Horseman helping Horseman

Traveling with horses is challenging, but imagine that you are traveling with your horses in an unfamiliar area when your vehicle breaks down or, worse, you are involved in an accident requiring overnight repairs and temporary shelter for your horses. Who would you call for assistance?

As a member of USRider, you could count on prompt, efficient help with a single phone call. USRider, the nationwide roadside assistance program for equestrians, provides emergency road service to its members in the lower 48 states as well as the 10 provinces of Canada and Alaska.

In addition to other unique benefits for the traveling equestrian, USRider provides emergency stabling referrals for its members. To enhance this service, USRider is seeking to expand its existing database of emergency stabling facilities available for use by its members. The call is being put out to fellow equestrians in the United States and Canada to assist in this effort.
If you would be willing to provide fellow equestrians with emergency stabling on a case-by-case basis, sign up by visiting the USRider Web site or writing to USRider Equestrian Motor Plan, P.O. Box 54711, Lexington, KY 40555. When writing, provide directions to your stable.

As part of the USRider motor plan, if a USRider member is involved in a reportable accident, USRider reimburses the member for emergency stabling and lodging (certain restrictions apply). To learn more about the USRider Equestrian Motor Plan or to request a free brochure, call toll-free (800) 844-1409 or visit http://www.usrider.org/.

Just to let you know, I bought this Equestrian Travel and Road plan and it is worth its weight in gold! Since my dear hubby is not that mechanically inclined (more like challenged) and I often trailer Royal to lessons and what not by myself, I feel so much more comfortable and confident, never mind safer, with my US Rider plan in my glove box and my card in my wallet! IT is actually less expensive than other road help plans and the others don't even help you or yr horse(s)if you have horses that you are towing with yr rig or SUV. Which means that you are asked to leave yr horse trailer with horses inside on the side of the road while they tow yr vehicle to a garage! I don't think so! They will get you lodging and stabling for yr horse as well as a vet and/or farrier if you say you need one! Thank god for that! When it comes time for renewal this October I won't hesitate to send in my renewal! Every equestrienne shouldn't leave home w/o it! Even if you're not hauling yr horse and/or are using someone else's vehicle or plain car! Just thought you might like to know I love US Rider just for the knowledge that it's there if I need it!
